Vascular Lab Testing in the Phoenix, AZ Metro Area

Vascular Lab Testing at Arizona Vein and Laser

Vascular laboratory procedures focus on testing for possible circulation problems. Our specialists at Arizona Vein and Laser Institute in Phoenix, AZ perform safe, painless vascular lab tests to diagnose artery and vein problems. Our vascular sonographers perform most vascular lab procedures with ultrasound equipment to determine the openness or find blockages in your arteries and veins. We’ll examine the blood vessels throughout your body to determine if you have vascular or vein conditions. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Vascular Laboratory Services

We evaluate multiple parts of the body to determine the cause of your vascular issues, including:

  • The arteries in your extremities to find and determine the severity of arterial occlusive disease (PAD)
  • The veins in your extremities to locate any blood clots for deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • The arteries in the brain to find any blockages or spasms in the vessels for Transcranial Doppler (TCD)
  • The renal arteries to find any narrowing vessels
  • The abdominal aorta and branches to locate an abdominal aortic aneurysm

Carotid Duplex Imaging

A carotid duplex scan locates any blockages in the carotid arteries. This type of ultrasound detects cholesterol plaque building in the carotid arteries on either side of the neck. Carotid duplex scans help lower the risk of stroke and other severe health issues.

Lower and Upper Arterial Doppler and Duplex

An arterial doppler documents the arterial circulation in your legs or arms with a blood pressure cuff. The Arterial duplex ultrasound scan maps the arteries to locate problems. The lower arterial exams help find narrow vessels or hardened arteries that may be causing leg pain, foot pain, diabetic conditions, peripheral aneurysms, and poorly healing wounds.

Lower and Upper Venous Duplex Imaging

A venous duplex scan documents the vein circulation in your arm and leg veins to determine the strength of the blood flow. This scan helps detect blood clots in the veins that often cause swelling and pain in the extremities and help prevent a pulmonary embolism (PE).

Aorto-iliac Duplex

An Aorto-Iliac Duplex maps the arteries and veins in the pelvis and abdomen. It helps detect narrowing and dilations of blood vessels. Symptoms of problems in the pelvis and abdomen veins include pain in the extremities when walking, murmurs in the abdomen called an abdominal bruit, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and Iliac artery aneurysms.

Vascular Screenings

Vascular screenings benefit anyone at risk for vascular disease without signs or symptoms. Vascular screenings help prevent stroke and heart disease. They are designed to identify the undiagnosed peripheral arterial disease (PAD), abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), and carotid artery disease. If you have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or diabetes, we recommend a vascular screening.
